Anthropic deepens Claude developer stack with Stainless acquisition, mirroring OpenAI's Tomoro move

Anthropic announced that it had acquired Stainless, a software firm specializing in the automated generation of software development kits, command-line tools, and Model Context Protocol server tooling. Founded in 2022, Stainless has powered every official Anthropic SDK since the earliest days of the Claude API, and serves several hundred companies who use its platform to convert API specifications into developer-ready libraries across TypeScript, Python, Go, Java, Kotlin, and other major languages. The acquisition deepens Anthropic's investment in the developer-experience layer of the Claude platform at a moment when the company is positioning agent connectivity as a central competitive priority. The deal lands one week after OpenAI's announcement of its DeployCo subsidiary and the acquisition of applied-AI engineering firm Tomoro, a parallel move targeting the deployment-services layer of enterprise AI adoption.
