Anthropic has overtaken OpenAI in business adoption among U.S. companies for the first time, according to the May 12, 2026 release of the Ramp AI Index. The index, based on corporate spending data across more than 50,000 companies and roughly $100 billion in annual business spend tracked through Ramp's payment platform, recorded Anthropic adoption at 34.4 percent of businesses in April, while OpenAI adoption fell 2.9 percentage points to 32.3 percent.
