Snap, the parent company of Snapchat, announced on April 15, 2026 that it would lay off roughly 16 percent of its full-time workforce and close more than 300 open roles. Chief executive Evan Spiegel wrote: "Rapid advancements in artificial intelligence enable our teams to reduce repetitive work, increase velocity, and better support our community, partners, and advertisers"
